WHOAMI

I'm Jean-Loup Mellion, or just JL, a French 22-year-old computer science student in the final year (M2) of the Master's program in Artificial Intelligence at ISTIC (linked to Inria and Irisa labs), University of Rennes, done as an apprenticeship, and cofounder / associate at Seer SAS.

My journey in tech began nearly a decade ago with game development in Unity, which served as my entry point into the tech community.

My tech interests are in AI / ML, System low-level programming, Databases, Rendering, Networking, Cybersec, Mathematics, Web, and more.

Based in Rennes, but I move around Europe regularly to meet people. Reach out wherever you are.

In addition to my academic, professional and personal work, I actively contribute to the tech community through CTF competitions and open source, or in various other activities and passions outside tech.

BUILDING

SEER SAS (SeerDesk)

Remote desktop platform. Cofounded in 2025, a SAS since March 2026 with two other associates.
C++ engine : GPU capture, hardware encoding, WebRTC transport, zero-copy rendering.
Go services : API, signalling, host service, CLI, updater.
Windows drivers as a Microsoft partner, Electron / React and Android clients.
Codec R&D, including neural codecs.
In production at first customers.

HAPHE DB

My take on a graph database, in Rust, embeddable like SQLite.
No node / edge distinction : everything is a typed incidence, so hypergraphs come for free and the schema can be added progressively.
Own storage engine, MVCC, temporal queries, benchmarked on LDBC.

GRAPHITE

A tiny C graphics runtime on Vulkan, built to test the "No Graphics API" idea : GPU pointers instead of buffer objects, bindless heaps you manage yourself, stateless draws.
Fully GPU-driven (compute culling emitting its own draws, mesh shaders), one image layout for life, no wait-idle in the frame loop.
Runs on NVIDIA and AMD, Windows and Linux. Comes with 10 demos, from a triangle to Sponza.

Log-Sparse MLP, CNN, Attention (increasing dim sizes, reducing ctx vram usage).
Small-world network, structured sparse architecture.
